After the holidays

(Kris in his element)

Well here we are in the post-holiday season. The post-holiday blahs. I thought ahead on this one and in advance planned a getaway in mid-January. So in two weeks me, Lisa, Joe, Kate, Stu, Mike, Jane and Jason are all going out to a cabin in Purdy for the week-end.

I'm really excited for this getaway. I haven't been able to go camping for two years because of everything that has been going on so this will have to substitute. This cabin is on a lake in the middle of sweet nowhere. Hello trees, snow, campfires, stars and moonlight on snow! Well I'm not sure if there is snow there but I can hope right?

Snow aside, I'll still be somewhere far from all the things that eat at you about the big city. Plus this place has a hot tub and sauna! I just want the hot tub but I think it's gonna be a fun week-end.

Christmas was good but my time at home went by all too fast. I got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my family. We changed a tradition this year. For the first time we celebrated Christmas Eve at my parents place. It used to be a tradition to spend it at Babcia and Dzaidziu's house. After some unfortunate events of last Christmas this year it was changed to our place.

Christmas Day Jason had everyone over to his house in the evening after everyone had finished their family stuff. So me, Scott, Jason and Kate sat around catching up till 1am.

The best part of my Christmas vacation was that I got to see Kris while I was home. Kate and I went to visit him at his house on the lake. It is beautiful. It reminded me about all I missed about home. I could have sat staring out his front window at his lake all day. I had so much fun out there.

Kris is an amazing guy I feel very lucky to have met him. I have very much enjoyed the time we got to spend together here and back home. He is such a fun person and has a fantastic sense of humour. I'm hoping to see him again when I go home for Easter. Just three months to go...

In the meantime I have many things to do before then. So back to the grindstone.
